Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 21, 2026 · Last updated: May 21, 2026
Your privacy matters to us — and we built FaceInsight from the ground up to protect it. This Privacy Policy explains what information FaceInsight (faceinsight.net) collects, what it doesn’t collect, and how we handle everything in between. We’ve written this in plain English so you actually understand it, not buried it in legal jargon.
By using FaceInsight, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don’t agree, please stop using the site.
1. Camera & Facial Data — The Important Part
FaceInsight uses your device’s camera to perform face reading analysis. Here’s exactly what happens — and what doesn’t:
🔒 What We Do NOT Do With Your Camera
- We do not upload your camera feed or photos to any server.
- We do not store, save, or log any image of your face.
- We do not record video or capture still images.
- We do not transmit facial measurements or landmark data off your device.
- We do not build a facial profile or biometric record of any kind.
- We do not use your face to train AI models.
- We do not share any facial data with third parties — ever.
All face analysis on FaceInsight runs entirely inside your browser using Google’s MediaPipe FaceMesh library — a technology that detects 468 facial landmarks in real time. This computation happens locally on your device. When you close the browser tab or navigate away, nothing is retained. There is no facial data to delete because none was ever collected.
Camera Permission
When you use any face reading tool, your browser will ask for camera permission. This permission is used only while the tool is active on screen. You can revoke it at any time through your browser settings. Denying camera access simply means the live analysis feature won’t work — you’re still free to browse the rest of the site.
2. What We Do Collect
While we collect no facial or biometric data, running a website involves a small amount of routine technical data. Here’s what that includes:
Standard Server Logs
Like every web server on the internet, our hosting provider automatically logs basic request data when you visit faceinsight.net. This typically includes:
- IP address (anonymized where possible)
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time of visit
- Referring URL (which site sent you here)
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
This data is used solely for security monitoring and basic traffic analysis. We don’t link it to any individual identity, and it is not sold or shared.
Information You Voluntarily Provide
If you contact us via email or a contact form, we receive the information you choose to send — typically your name and email address, and whatever you write in your message. We use this only to respond to you. We don’t add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
3. Cookies & Analytics
Essential Cookies
FaceInsight uses a small number of essential cookies that are necessary for the site to function properly — for example, remembering your preferences or maintaining a secure session. These cannot be disabled without breaking basic site functionality.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as anonymized page view counts) to understand which tools people find most useful, so we can improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics Universal or any analytics that tracks individual users across sessions or builds user profiles.
If and when we add analytics, we will update this section with full details of the specific tools used and the data they collect.
No Advertising Cookies
FaceInsight does not run advertising. We have no advertising partners and place no advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
4. Third-Party Services
Google MediaPipe
Our face reading tools are powered by Google MediaPipe FaceMesh, which is loaded as a JavaScript library in your browser. MediaPipe processes your camera feed locally and does not send facial data to Google or any other party. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
WordPress & Hosting
FaceInsight is built on WordPress and hosted on a third-party web host. Our hosting provider may process standard server log data as described in Section 2. We choose hosting providers that comply with applicable data protection standards.
No Data Brokers
We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to data brokers, advertisers, or any other third parties. Full stop.
5. Children’s Privacy
FaceInsight is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will promptly delete it.
If you are between 13 and 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian before using the site.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding any personal data we hold about you. These may include:
- Right to access — Ask us what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to deletion — Request that we delete your personal data.
- Right to correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to object — Object to certain uses of your data.
- Right to portability — Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Because FaceInsight collects minimal personal data (no facial data, no accounts, no profiles), exercising most of these rights is straightforward — in many cases, there simply is no personal data to access or delete.
To make any request, contact us at the email address in Section 9. We will respond within 30 days.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the address in Section 9.
European Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our lawful basis for processing the limited server log data described above is legitimate interests (operating a secure, functioning website). We do not process any special-category data (including biometric data) because facial analysis runs entirely on your device and no such data is ever transmitted to us.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data we do hold from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include HTTPS encryption for all site traffic and access controls on our hosting infrastructure.
That said, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use an up-to-date browser and to contact us immediately if you suspect any security issue related to faceinsight.net.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features or services that involve data collection, or if applicable laws change. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
For significant changes, we’ll post a notice on the site. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of FaceInsight after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
